Single this V-Day? Don’t fret! Stock up on popcorn and build your pillow fort – it’s time for a movie marathon. Here are 5 movies to watch if you’re single this Valentine’s Day.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)

This is a comedy that will make you laugh, hard. Starring How I Met Your Mother‘s Jason Segel, and Frozen‘s Kristen Bell, this movie follows Peter (played by Segel), who finds out that his girlfriend has been cheating on him for a year. Sucks, right!? He then decides to take a vacation, but guess what? His ex is there too, and with her new beau! Featuring cameos by Russell Brand, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, and Mila Kunis, this is a hilarious film that will have you in stitches.

Clueless (1995)

“Ugh, as if!” Starring Alicia Silverstone and the late Brittany Murphy, this is a coming-of-age film about high school, growing up, love, and the mistakes along the way. Spoiled rich kid Cher Horowitz (played by Silverstone) struggles to uphold her high standards in a field of immature high schoolers. She finds purpose in befriending new girl Tai (played by Murphy), and even falls in love! 11 years on, this movie remains #relatable and its fashion still inspires.

He’s Just Not That Into You (2009)

This is a classic rom-com – people fall in love, people get married, everyone is happy. But this is a movie with substance as well, and a lesson to take to heart. Starring big names like Ben Affleck, Jennifer Anniston, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Connelly and Justin Long, this film teaches you that you can’t force things to happen — no matter how hard you try — and that being with another person doesn’t always make you happy. Self-love is the best love, and in the end, your relationship with yourself is the most important. Don’t settle and go for what you want.

La La Land (2017)

This film swept the prizes during awards season, and once you watch it, you’ll know why. The story follows aspiring actress Mia (played by Emma Stone) and struggling pianist Sebastian (played by Ryan Gosling). Diverging from typical rom-com fashion, they meet, fall in love, bicker and fight, and eventually break up. Theirs is a beautiful relationship that teaches you that not everyone who comes into your life is here to stay. Some people are here to serve a purpose, to encourage you to chase your dreams, and then they leave. This film teaches a powerful lesson about not regretting love.

Legally Blonde (2001)

What starts off as a lame “get the boy back” tale ends up as a funny, charming, sweet, and empowering girl power story. Blonde bimbo Elle Woods (played by Reese Witherspoon) is dumped by the boy of her dreams, and she gives it her all to be the perfect girl for him – but finds out along the way that she likes who she is, and anyone who hates on that, doesn’t have a place in her life. This inspiring movie is definitely the best for getting pumped up and confident, ready to take on life. You go, girl!

There you have it, 5 movies to watch with a pint of ice cream and all your best girlfriends. Who needs boys, huh? Have fun!
